Going from Good to Great in Shoewear
Want to find the best shoes for arthritis? Try three simple tests on each shoe. They have to pass ALL 3 tests.
- Squeeze test- Squeeze the heel cup at the back and the ends should not touch
- Push test- push your thumb into the soft heel and this should sink at least 2 mm for a shock absorbing heel.
- Twist test- Grab the front and back of the shoe and twist like wringing out a towel. If it twists easily, the shank is not stable enough.
